Antique 1920s Black Crochet Boudoir Skull Cap

A stunning and authentic antique cap, dating right back to the 1920s. This beautiful piece is delicately hand-crocheted in black thread, forming a close-fitting skull cap or boudoir cap shape that was the height of fashion in the Flapper era. It features a lovely scalloped edge that elegantly frames the face. The side is adorned with an exquisite, original embellishment. This includes a ribbon-work flower in black and golden-yellow, sitting above two soft black velvet leaves. The leaves are highlighted with a contrasting yellow chain stitch embroidery. Condition: In remarkable condition for its age (approximately 100 years old!). The crochet work is strong and the decoration is intact.
