Antique Dolland & Co, Leather Cased Field Binoculars c1895 (Very Clean)

Antique Dolland & Co Field glasses of simple Galilean design with original leather case and straps. Black Enamel painted metal body with pull out objective lens shades, stitched brown leather coverings on binocular draw tubes. Central focussing wheel with textured grip. Both eyepieces marked 'DOLLOND LONDON'. Fixed bridge, with all optical lenses very clean and operable, with no ingression of light internally. Original brown leather case and integral straps, lined with Crimson Red velvet, printed in gold lettering under lid 'ESTD 1750/ DOLLOND LONDON/ 35 LUDGATE HILL,223, OXFORD ST, LONDON Owner's initial inscription in ink underside of leather case E.B.L These period Antique Field glasses by Dolland & Co are probably the best I have ever had or ever seen regarding condition. The stitched brown leather covering on draw tubes is outstanding, there are a few little rubs and chips to black enamelling but over all they are in superb order.
