While the successor model, the 145, has a screw-on cap, the 144 features a snap-on cap, allowing for quick removal and immediate writing, which is also appealing.

The body color is the classic black, exuding a sense of luxury. It is equipped with a 14K gold nib from the all-gold era, and the nib width is B (bold), which is rare for the 144, allowing for comfortable and thick lines.
