After purchasing a fake jellycat on accident, I noticed how many sellers are selling fake/counterfeit jellycats as the real deal, while I’ve also noticed that many will hide the real tush tag to avoid detection (as this is the main way to tell)
I’ve stumbled across entire shops that sell fake as authentic, right here on Mercari. If you see a fake listing, report it!
Please do not buy a jellycat if you cannot see both tags.
In my photos, you’ll notice that the counterfeit jellycat has extremely bulky lining around the cats face and whiskers, while the real one does not. Both of the tags should always match exactly, with the same font.
Fake jellycats will not have the same font on the tush tag as the easily faked hang tag. Be careful when you purchase!! People can be shady.
