This is a rare Bavarian Military Merit Order with Swords (2nd Class MVO) awarded to individuals who distinguished themselves in the Austro-Prussian War of 1866, featuring blue enamel.

The order was established on July 19, 1866, by King Ludwig II of Bavaria.

It is the second-highest military order, following the Military Order of Max Joseph. It was awarded to officers, officials, and civilians who had rendered meritorious service to the military. For soldiers, there was a separate Military Merit Cross.
