Please see photos as this is an old box. It is ornate and beautiful and would be a brilliant repair job for someone. There is no key, every part of the box is accessible unless there’s a secret compartment I’ve not found. The black tape shown in the photos is holding down a piece of the metal border that has curled up and become sharp. When I took the photos I had just wiped it down with soapy water so shall not arrive as shiny as first photos show.
