Original 1991 flyer that I grabbed from a light post on Haight and Cole St. because I lived 2 blocks away, loved GWAR and saw the show at the Kennel Club in 1991. Met Oderus Orungus afterwards and smoked em out. They were cool people, artists and even met the original GWAR girl. Their show? I came home covered in fake blood like anyone who’s seen a proper GWAR show. The Melvin’s were alright that night but I’d seen em. a lot so seeing GWAR at the OG Kennel Club on Divisadero was the best. Sadly, it later turned into DV8 lounge but the Kennel club booker always had bands like Skinny Puppy, KMFDM, Alien Sex Fiend, Pigface and many early industrial bands and was a sanctuary for cutting edge bands.
