This special 50th-anniversary edition of "Band On the Run" is half-speed mastered using high-resolution audio from the original master tapes created in 1973 by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. The tracklist for CD1 is the same as the US release, including the song "Helen Wheel." CD2 features the previously unreleased "underdubbed" mix.

Regarding the "underdubbed" mix, Paul McCartney explains:
"This is 'Band On the Run' like no one has ever heard it before. Adding extra guitar parts and such is called 'overdubbing.' This version is 'underdubbed,' which is the opposite."

With the "underdubbed" mix, you can enjoy the nine masterpieces of "Band On the Run" without the added parts like the orchestra.

This previously unreleased rough mix was created on October 14, 1973, by Geoff Emerick with the help of Peter Swettenham at AIR Studios.

The track order is different from previous releases, adhering to the track order of the original analog tapes found in the MPL warehouse.
