Postcards To Donald Evans by Takashi Hiraide 2003 Out-of-Print Softcover 1st Edition

Postcards to Donald Evans is a book of prose poems by Japanese poet Takashi Hiraide, written as a tribute to the late American artist Donald Evans, who created stamps for imaginary countries. The book is an epistolary travelogue, with Hiraide writing short, postcard-like poems to Evans after his death, exploring themes of art, grief, and the real vs. imagined world through his travels and reflections on Evans's work.

Taksahi Hiriade is one of the leading poets of Japan's post-war generation, travelling extensively, including three months as a poet-in-residence at the University of Iowa International Writing Program. POSTCARDS TO DONALD EVANS chronicles Hiriade's travels through places as varied as Iowa, to Seattle, Tokyo, and Amsterdam. He currently lives in Tokyo.
