Pre-1948 Mexican Sterling Silver Graduated Bead Necklace

This historic, authentic pre-1948 Mexican silver necklace carries the rare "Silver Mexico" hallmark, typically used during the late 1920s to early 1930s "Silver Renaissance." Reminiscent of the bold jewelry worn by Frida Kahlo, it features handmade silver "pearl" beads that graduate from 5 mm at the clasp to a prominent 11 mm center. As typical for genuine hollow-bead silver of this era, some beads show minor dings and a gentle patina that enhance its antique character.

This 15 3/4" choker-length necklace weighs 13.73 grams and represents a soulful era of Mexican craftsmanship including the rise of iconic Taxco styles. It is a true collector's piece of early 20th-century jewelry history.
