Hand-thrown Thai celadon vase from Baan Celadon, Chiang Mai, dated 1988 on the base. This studio pottery vase features a classic celadon glaze with hand-incised and slip-decorated fish and scroll motifs that wrap fully around the body. The form shows subtle throwing rings and natural variation consistent with wheel-thrown work.
The glaze pools softly in recessed areas and breaks slightly at the edges of the decoration, creating depth and contrast typical of Northern Thai celadon. The base is marked “BAAN CELADON,” “CHIANGMAI THAILAND,” with the handwritten date and studio code.
Preowned vintage condition. No chips or cracks noted. Minor surface irregularities and glaze variations are inherent to handmade pottery and part of the character of the piece.
