Helmet bag issued to U.S. Air Force (USAF) pilots.
A large, drawstring bag with cushioning, known as the second type.
Features an Air Force blue nylon shell with a drawstring that tightens from both sides.
While there is some soiling, the label is in very clean condition, with no markings. There are no holes, tears, or other damage to the shell or lining.
The DSA-1 contract indicates this item is from the early 1960s.
This is a later model without the Air Force stamp.
An order tag remains, which appears to indicate delivery to the 345th Tactical Airlift Squadron in 1968.
This tag alone has historical value.
External dimensions: Approximately 45x46 cm.
The second type is rare, and it's uncommon to find them in good condition.
It will be difficult to obtain one in the future.
