Victorian Writing Slope Desk with Inkwells & Pen – c.1850s Antique

Antique Victorian writing slope / lap desk, dating to around the mid–19th century (c.1850s). Made in mahogany (possibly rosewood veneer) with a brass escutcheon and mother-of-pearl shield cartouche to the lid. Inside, the box retains its original blue velvet writing surface with gilt tooled edging. It comes with two square glass inkwells (metal lids) and a bone-handled dip pen. 📏 Measurements: Closed: 23 cm long x 35 cm wide x 6.5 cm tall Open: 47 cm long x 35 cm wide x 13 cm tall Condition: Shows age-related wear as expected for its age. Veneer has scratches and some losses, velvet surface is worn and stained, inkwells cloudy with tarnished lids. Lock is present but no key. Still a charming complete example with original fittings.
