Classic vintage Hallicrafters Model S-38C BC / Shortwave receiver with variable BFO for continuous wave (Morse) reception. Useable as-is or for further restoration. Tested on all bands and CW. Coils, VC and BFO seem A-OK. Controls move smoothly. Receives well - requires long wire for SW and distant / weak BC.
Shortwave bands: 6-7 MC, 9-10 MC, 11-12MC, 15-18 MC
This came from a New Mexico prop house. Even if we knew, we are prohibited to reveal anything about on-screen provenance. What we can say is that the prop house was located near a studio whose name rhymes with "JetSticks". It may or may not have ever been used on productions filmed in NM. The prop house did a really nice job restoring bottom and back panels.
