Vintage Lapel Pin With Miniature Micrometer, Brown & Sharpe Vintage Advertising

This fabulous and very unusual little vintage lapel pin features a miniature micrometer, and bears the mark of the Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing Co of Providence, Rhode Island. It is a fab item for anyone interested in engineering, vintage tools,  vintage advertising or vintage men's jewellery. The pin's shape and theme celebrate Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing Co's history of producing precision measurement tools, in Providence. Rhode Island, USA. A micrometer is a precise measuring tool used by machinists, engineers and other technicians to take extremely accurate and fine measurements. Crafted in brass with markings to resemble a fullsize micrometer, with a gilt finish. Probably dates to the 1940s or 1950s. The pin is in good vintage condition, with a nice patina - not all bright and shiny. It has a slight kink in the pin - as seen in photos - but this was often deliberate so that it was less likely to slip out.
