Welcome! Thank you for your interest in this vintage, Nippon, hand painted, candy/nut bowl. The bowl pink peony flowers. It is trimmed in gold and marked on the bottom "Hand-Painted Nippon".
The decoration features traditional Japanese-style florals, rocks, and a bridge, with gold-accented borders. The painting style and soft color palette are characteristic of late Meiji–early Taishō period export porcelain.
Country of origin: Japan
Period: Circa 1891–1921
Condition; The bowl is in good condition, no chips, cracks or crazing. A little bit of the gold gilt has worn away from the handles which is normal for the age.
