This striking vintage scarf has a tag that reads "Designed & Woven by Robert D. Sailors Bitely, Michigan". It has a beautiful rough weave to it but is made from very soft materials. The white and dark yellow fibers are made of wool roving rather than anything that's actually been woven into a thread first. The black in the scarf is made from a wool string. This is 100% wool. The scarf measures 48x11"
Sailors was born and lived in Michigan. His work is in the collection at the Art Institute of Chicago where he studied. More information can be found online.
