Original 1949 paperbound publication of Ether, God and Devil by Wilhelm Reich, issued as Number 2 of the Annals of the Orgone Institute. This is an authentic Orgone Institute Press edition, not a modern reprint or facsimile.
The Annals of the Orgone Institute were produced in limited quantities and distributed primarily within Reich’s scientific and academic circle. Original copies are scarce, particularly following the later U.S. government suppression and destruction of Reich’s publications in the 1950s.
Condition is fair to good for age. Covers show expected wear and age toning, with taped reinforcement along the spine. Pages are complete and legible, with age-related browning. Previous owner inscription present on the title page. Binding remains intact.
A historically significant and increasingly uncommon early Reich publication, of interest to collectors of psychoanalysis, history of science, banned or suppressed books, and 20th-century intellectual history.
